Marie, Dancing Still<\/i>, the new musical from the Tony Award-winning songwriting team of Lynn Ahrens<\/a> and Stephen Flaherty<\/a>, officially opens April 5 at Seattle\u2019s 5th Avenue Theatre following previews that began March 22.<\/p>\n Tony Award winner Susan Stroman<\/a> (The Producers, Contact<\/i>) directs and choreographs the musical, which tells the real-life story of the ballerina who inspired Edgar Degas’ iconic sculpture. Marie, Dancing Still <\/i>will continue through April 14. <\/p>\n Tiler Peck, the New York City Ballet principal dancer who made her Broadway debut in Stroman\u2019s 2000 production of The Music Man<\/i><\/b><\/a>, stars in the central role of Marie opposite Tony nominee Terrence Mann<\/b><\/a> as Degas.<\/p>\n The cast also features Tony nominee Louise Pitre<\/b><\/a> as Adult Marie, Tony nominee Dee Hoty<\/b><\/a> as Mary Cassat, Tony winner Karen Ziemba<\/b><\/a> as Martine Van Goethem, Jenny Powers<\/b><\/a> as Antoinette Van Goethem, Kyle Harris as Christian, Christopher Gurr as Corbeil, with Noelle Hogan as Charlotte Van Goethem.<\/p>\n Also in the company are Caitlin Abraham, Polly Baird, Lauren Blackman, Ana\u00efs Blake, Jim Borstelmann, Abbey Del Corral, David Elder, Sara Esty, Justin Genna, Tyler Hardwick, Barbara Marineau, Jolina Javier, Jasmine Ward, and Lyrica Woodruff, with Jessica Bishop, Richard Gatta, Amy Ruggiero, and David Prottas as swings.<\/p>\n The creative team includes Beowulf Boritt<\/b><\/a> (scenic design), William Ivey Long<\/b><\/a> (costume design), Ken Billington<\/b><\/a> (lighting design), Kai Harada (sound design), 59 Productions (projection design), Paul Huntley<\/b><\/a> (hair and wig design), David Loud<\/b><\/a> (music supervisor), co-orchestrators Doug Besterman and Larry Hockman, dance arranger Sam Davis<\/b><\/a>, and production stage manager Johnny Milani. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
