href=\"https:\/\/www.tennessean.com\/story\/sports\/2019\/03\/06\/nascar-cup-series-awards-show-moving-nashville-martin-truex-steve-phelps-music-city-center\/3079353002\/\" target=\"_blank\">NASCAR\u00a0Cup Series Awards ceremony<\/a> is\u00a0moving to Nashville to encourage NASCAR to bring racing back to the Music City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable-p-2 p-text\">Soon after the announcement came that the NASCAR Cup Series Awards were moving from Las\u00a0Vegas to the Music City Center, the semi-retired Earnhardt tweeted:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p-text\">&#8220;Please lord make the move of the @NASCAR banquet to Nashville in any way influence the return of NASCAR to the @FGSpeedway.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p-text\">Nashville landing the awards ceremony comes at a time when the city is making a push to bring NASCAR racing back to town.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p-text\">The city served as host to NASCAR Cup Series races from 1958-84 with the circuit visiting twice a year from 1973-84.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p-text\">In December, Speedway Motorsports, which owns Bristol Motor Speedway and several other NASCAR tracks, struck a deal with fairgrounds racetrack operator Tony Formosa that paved the way for NASCAR&#8217;s return.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p-text\">However, no specifics have been announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p-text\"><span class=\"exclude-from-newsgate\"><strong
