President Trump on Sunday suggested that it was Congressional Democrats and their questioning of Michael Cohen<\/a> that may have led to the outcome of last week\u2019s summit meeting with North Korea.<\/p>\n

In a tweet Trump said<\/a>: \u201cFor the Democrats to interview in open hearings a convicted liar & fraudster, at the same time as the very important Nuclear Summit with North Korea, is perhaps a new low in American politics and may have contributed to the \u201cwalk.\u201d Never done when a president is overseas. Shame!\u201d<\/p>\n

The summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un was abruptly cut short<\/a> Thursday after the leaders failed to reach an accord on denuclearization.<\/p>\n

Afterward, Trump said \u201cSometimes, you have to walk\u201d away from negotiations when they aren\u2019t going well.<\/p>\n

The Democratic-controlled House Oversight Committee grilled Cohen, Trump\u2019s former lawyer, for hours Wednesday \u2014 the first day of the summit \u2014 about his time working for the president\u2019s company. Cohen made claims, such as Trump approved hush money payouts. Trump has called Cohen a liar.<\/p>\n

Cohen\u2019s testimony came before he is set to head to prison in May on tax and campaign finance violations.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
