Rep. Jerrold Nadler, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said Sunday his panel will begin requesting documents from more than 60 people, including Donald Trump Jr. and the Trump Organization\u2019s longtime chief financial officer.<\/p>\n
The list will be released on Monday \u201cto begin investigations to present the case to the American people about obstruction of justice, corruption and abuse of power,\u201d the New York Democrat told ABC\u2019s \u201cThis Week.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n Asked if Trump tried to obstruct justice, Nadler said, \u201cYes, I do.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cEleven-hundred times he referred to the Mueller investigation as a witch hunt, he tried to protect Flynn from being investigated by the FBI, he fired Comey in order to stop the Russian thing as he told NBC News<\/a>,\u201d Nadler said, referring to former national security adviser Michael Flynn and former FBI director James Comey.<\/p>\n Pressed by host George Stephanopoulos that obstruction of justice on President Trump\u2019s part would be grounds for impeachment, Nadler said his panel isn\u2019t ready to reach that conclusion yet.<\/p>\n \u201cNo, we have to do the investigations and get all of this. We do not now have the evidence all sorted out and everything to do an impeachment,\u201d Nadler said.<\/p>\n The congressman said the American public has to be persuaded that impeachment is a necessary course to take, and Trump voters have to be made aware that Democrats are not trying to reverse the results of the 2016 election.<\/p>\n Michael Cohen, the one-time lawyer and fixer for Trump, raised Weisselberg\u2019s name at least 30 times during his testimony last Wednesday<\/a> before the House Oversight Committee.<\/p>\n Among the accusations, Cohen said Weisselberg was instrumental in the $130,000 hush-payment Cohen made to porn star Stormy Daniels weeks before the 2016 election to buy her silence on allegations she had an affair with Trump.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
