A defiant Stephanie Winston Wolkoff<\/a> is reemerging on the society scene amid her Trump inauguration scandal \u2014 and the Vogue alum told Page Six that she\u2019s \u201cextremely proud\u201d of the work she did on the event, insisting that she did \u201ceverything as it should have been done.\u201d<\/p>\n The former aide to Melania Trump<\/a> was unceremoniously booted from the East Wing in February 2018 after a backlash over reports that claimed her company had been paid nearly $26 million<\/a> for her work on the January 2017 event.<\/p>\n (Wolkoff said at the time the firm had only been paid $1.62 million.)<\/p>\n She\u2019s since been largely out of the public eye, but a couple weeks ago she appeared at a philanthropic event at a Lauder mansion, and then on Friday showed up at the UN Women for Peace Association\u2019s annual awards luncheon \u2014 whose board of directors she\u2019s on.<\/p>\n In the months after she was fired, Town & Country published an article<\/a> chronicling Wolkoff\u2019s \u201crise and fall.\u201d<\/p>\n When we asked her if she felt she\u2019d \u201cfallen,\u201d Wolkoff \u2014 who\u2019s helping the UNWFPA to collaborate with the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence \u2014 told us, \u201cI think there [were headlines] heard around the world that [were] totally misleading.\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cAll I will say about that is that I stand true to myself as I am and as I have always been. I am proud of the work that I did on the inauguration \u2014 extremely proud \u2014 and as I have always done, I do everything the way it\u2019s supposed to be done, and I stand tall, and whatever comes may come.\u201d<\/p>\n She also said she refused to let the media circus interfere with her philanthropic work.<\/p>\n The UNWFPA handed out awards to Ben Stiller, Leslee Udwin, Naeem Khan and Albert and Deidre Pujols.
