Ilhan Omar<\/a>, D-Minn., to the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, has sparked outrage among lawmakers.<\/p>\n The poster, which was displayed on a table in the rotunda in the Capitol, showed a split picture of the World Trade Center on fire on top of a snap of Omar.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2019Never Forget\u2019 \u2013 You said..\u201d the caption on the picture of the twin towers read.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the caption of the picture of Omar read, \u201cI am the proof you have forgotten.\u201d<\/p>\n The poster was part of the display for \u201cWV GOP Day,\u201d which is when the \u201cRepublicans Take the Rotunda,\u201d NBC News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n CONGRESS BOUND, MINNESOTA’S ILHAN OMAR ENJOYS ANOTHER FIRST<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Omar became the first Somali-American elected to Congress in November. She is one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress, along with Democrat Rashida Tlaib.<\/p>\n It was not immediately clear who put up the poster, but lawmakers got into a heated dispute over the display. The argument even became physical, leaving a doorkeeper allegedly injured and a lawmaker\u00a0resigning.<\/p>\n A few Democratic lawmakers condemned the poster and allegedly got into a feud with Anne Lieberman, the House\u2019s sergeant-at-arms, \u201cafter she allegedly made an anti-Muslim remark,\u201d NBC News reported. Lieberman denied the remark but resigned Friday following the allegation.<\/p>\n Democratic lawmaker Mike Caputo allegedly injured a doorkeeper during a heated argument, WSAZ<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n The House has 59 Republicans and 41 Democrats. House Speaker Roger Hanshaw said the incident was being investigated.<\/p>\n “We have allowed national-level politics to become a cancer on our state … to invade our chamber in a way that makes me ashamed,\u201d he said in remarks on the floor. \u201cWe can do better.\u201d<\/p>\n Democrat Mike Pushkin called the poster \u201cracist\u201d and \u201cwrong.\u201d He said no Republicans condemned the display.<\/p>\n OMAR, TLAIB SAY CRITICS CHARGE ‘ANTI-SEMITISM’ AGAINST THEM AS WAY TO END DEBATE OVER ISRAEL’S POLICIES<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m really disappointed that not a single Republican elected official in this building could join me in saying it\u2019s wrong,\u201d he told The Washington Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n Omar responded to the poster in a tweet on Friday.<\/p>\n \u201cNo wonder why I am on the \u2018Hitlist\u2019 of a domestic terrorist and \u2018assassinate Ilhan Omar\u2019 is written on my local gas stations,\u201d she wrote. \u201cLook no further, the GOP\u2019s anti-Muslim display likening me to a terrorist rocks in state capitols and no one is condemning them!\u201d<\/p>\n
