A teenager who was born resembling a ‘broken doll’ requiring her face to be rebuilt has received makeup for the first time for Christmas.<\/p>\n

Kira Yates, 13, had to have her skull “smashed and reshaped” because she has a rare condition which meant she had malformations of the skull, face, hands and feet.<\/p>\n

But after undergoing pioneering surgery four years ago, fashion-obsessed Kira asked to be bought makeup for the first time.<\/p>\n

Her proud mother Michelle, 52, said Kira, who ‘used to get the mickey taken out of her looks’, has thrived since the series of major operations in 2014.<\/p>\n

She said: “When she had the surgery we lost Kira and gained an entirely new girl.<\/p>\n
