Systematic arrests of forex dealers began after a new law was put into effect in September 2017\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0Statutory Instrument 122A of 2017, Exchange Control (Amendment) Regulations, 2017 (No. 5). The arrests\u00a0intensified at the end of November this year.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 478, 209 were arrested in Bulawayo, 65 in Harare and the rest in other parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Police spokesperson Charity Charamba said:\u201dThirty cases were sent to court and five were convicted.
