New Delhi, December 21 (IANS). Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Sunday that the government wants every woman to feel safe and ensures them freedom to work and equal opportunities to move forward. CM Rekha Gupta wrote on social media platform X that the women of Delhi also play an important role in building a developed Delhi. He said that the priority of our government is that every woman should feel safe, every skill should be given a chance, and confidence should accompany every step. There must be freedom to work, confidence to move forward, and equal opportunities. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, women empowerment is our intent, our direction and our mission. Earlier on Saturday, Chief Minister Gupta said the government has prepared a comprehensive framework for the electric vehicle (EV) policy, which is likely to be implemented from the next financial year to ensure smooth adoption of electric vehicles and reduce pollution. Chief Minister Gupta said the EV policy will play an effective role in controlling pollution in the national capital as smoke emitted from vehicles is a major cause of air pollution. He said that this policy is not only limited to providing financial incentives but is also about ensuring a clean future for Delhi. He said that when every citizen adopts electric vehicles, there will be a direct change in the levels of PM 2.5 and PM 10. The government is integrating charging infrastructure and subsidies in such a way that Delhi can emerge as the ‘EV capital’ not just of the country but of the world. He further said that technology and government support are our strongest weapons in this fight against pollution. The chief minister explained that the primary focus of the government under the new EV policy will be on financial incentives. He announced that adequate subsidies will be provided to reduce the huge price gap between petrol-diesel (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles. –IANS MS/DKP Share this story Tags
