A little background
The 16th at TPC Scottsdale is known as the loudest hole in golf. It’s always a big crowd but here it’s even bigger as people have turned up in droves to see if this Tiger Woods guy everyone is talking about is as good as they say. He’d just won three of his last 9 tournaments and was barely 21. Naturally Tiger aces it. Later this year he’d go on to win the Masters and the hype train has hardly slowed since.
e: another fun story about this tournament: Tiger’s partner that day, Omar Uresti, would turn around whenever Tiger took a shot, fearing that just witnessing Tiger’s golf swing would fuck with his head
This isn’t a rock concert. Go back to your shanties.
And then he went out and banged hoors.
That one moment when golf on tv doesn’t look half bad to watch
AND he raised the roof.
I love how wonderfully dated this is with the “raise the roof” and “we’re not worthy” gestures. That’s 1997 alright.
Those were some of the worst high-fives I’ve ever seen in my life
This shot resulted in my asking for golf clubs for Christmas in 1997 as an 11 year-old kid and kick-started my passion for golf. I am one of many who drew inspiration directly from Tiger. So, Tiger, thanks for everything man.. you mean a lot to me and made my life more fun.
That “raise the roof” told me it was 1997.
Def next fucking level. Goosebumps head to toe lol
From what I heard this kid turned out to be pretty good.
There will never be anyone like him to grace the game again.
Wonder who caught the ball after he threw it into crowd
This dude right here was just dripping with swag.
Just to experience how he felt after that shot for a few seconds, I’d give up a lot.
Those Arizona Perkins waitresses never saw it coming
Is this what ‘golf clap’ means
Man, I remember how exciting it used to be watching Tiger Woods, Mike Tyson and Michael Jordan back in the day!
You absolutely *knew* they were going to win!
That is an epic sports moment
I know tiger just won another tournament recently but god I wish Tiger just went on another dominant streak. I just want to see him happy.
Raise the roof. Hell ya lol oh I’m old hahaha
Solid roof raise
Did he have the same caddy as Happy Gilmore?
Great content
He then went on to put a hole in one in 15 woman who were not his wife.
I like how he fixed his divot mark at the end
Other golfers, on other holes “What’s that racket I can’t concentrate on my shot.” PGA official “Tiger just aced 16.”
Remember his arrival on the golf scene even though I’ve never followed golf.
At the time the joke was “What do you call 30 white men chasing a black man?”
The PGA.
?
Good bye fried rice hello fried chicken
I love how he goes up to the young caddies first and give them high-fives.
Baggy clothes Tiger is my favorite Tiger.
Raise the roof!!
Mind=blown
Let’s all bitch and complain about corporate America. Jesus….get a grip, enjoy the video, enjoy life.
It’s like the scene from *Hot Rod* where they then begin burning things down and destroying property
Who has that ball? Looked like he threw it into the crowd $$$
they went off like a Happy Gilmore crowd
Other than Happy Gilmore, this is the most golf I have ever watched (and I couldn’t even make it past 2 mins)
