Ayurveda considers the Tulsi plant, which is easily available in every home, as nothing less than a blessing. Tulsi leaves, loved by gods and goddesses, strengthen immunity. The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India states that Tulsi is not just a sacred leaf in the puja thali but is nature’s most powerful medicinal blessing. Especially in winter when the risk of viruses and infections is highest, daily consumption of Tulsi makes the body so strong from within that there is less need for medicine. Ayurveda tells that many wonderful properties are hidden in Tulsi. Basil leaves have abundant anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-oxidant properties. This is the reason why it is called ‘protector of health’. Eating basil daily offers many benefits. As a result, immunity becomes so strong that cold, cough, fever and flu do not occur easily. Provides relief from sore throat, phlegm and chronic cough. Patients suffering from shortness of breath, asthma and allergies are benefited. Bad elements are removed from the body and blood purification takes place. Digestion is strengthened, gas, indigestion and acidity stay away. Eating basil leaves reduces stress and anxiety because the aroma of basil calms the mind and induces good sleep. Also provides relief from mouth sores.
