Juventus midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo has cost his club a lot of money in a short period of time.

According to Italian media reports, Juventus closed its budget for last season with big losses, the reason being the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Juventus, nicknamed “The Old Lady”, last summer signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid for 105 million euros and earns a salary of around 31 million a year.

The Italian newspaper La Gazzetta reported that Juventus closed its budget for the 2018-2019 season with losses of nearly 40 million euros, the main reason is the cost of Ronaldo's deal.

The report added that the club tried to cover the value of the deal through sales and profits behind the image of the Portuguese star, but all this was not enough to make profits.

The matter was discussed at the meeting of the Agnelli family, which owns more than 60% of the club's shares, and will be officially announced on September 19.

This summer Juventus have struggled to get rid of a number of players who are not included in the accounts of the team for the new season, such as Emre Chan and Mario Mandokic.
