While lingerie sales at retailers like Victoria’s Secret may be struggling, younger brands like Savage x Fenty and Aerie are leading the way with body-positive campaigns, inclusive fashion shows and innovative materials.

They know that shoppers are looking for more than just sex appeal when it comes to intimates, and the news that Aerie just launched an eco-friendly new collection is once again proving that the brand is pushing fashion forward in 2020.

The new Real Good™ Swim line is made up of ten pieces in a variety of colours and patterns, and are made from a fabric called Repreve. Using recycled materials spun into new yarns, this collection alone helped redirect one million plastic water bottles from landfills.

“[This] collection is about more than just creating environmentally responsible products,” Aerie’s global brand president Jen Foyle told Fast Company. “It’s also about encouraging conversations around protecting our planet and embracing a lifestyle that reduces waste.”

Available in stores and online now, the collection of mix-and-match swimsuits range in price from $30 to $60, and are available in sizes XXS to XXL.
