German Autobahn, apparently he went from 3rd to 2nd (instead of 4th) and the engine went to 12,000 RPM before giving a catastrophic error message
Was honestly expecting a lil bit more of a boom… This was more of a high pitched vroom
This is known as the “money shift”, because if you do it, it’s going to cost you a LOT of money.
I worked at a bmw shop for 15 years and these “money shifted” cars came in at least once or twice a month. Customers always played dumb but we would find faults being set at over 10,000rpm. Ooops ?
This is why I went with the auto + paddles in my 335i , I dont trust myself to not do this on track when I am stressed and distracted.

I’ve shifted 2nd to 1st before at redline in my CRX. Tach went to 10k++. Car still ran fine years after.
I mean I’ve done that or worse in a 1988 Honda Civic and nothing happened lol
