@davihero’s redesign of Bryant Seth Walker’s logo for Urban Pasta. Straight off the bat, what are your thoughts for this restaurant logo? Swipe across to Image 3 to see the original next to Daviher’s redesign.

Daviher said he always starts with paper sketches and he chose to alter this logo because he liked how the pasta was represented through lines but wanted to give it his own spin. One of the biggest changes he made was separating the logo and the mark so it could be more transferrable to other applications.

✴️ @thechrisdo liked the reversed black circle design in Image 5, but felt it put too much emphasis on ‘Berlin est 2017’ as it’s the same type size as the brand name and black is where the contrast is.

✴️ As a general rule – the inversion of circles and lines (look closely at the circle designs in Image 5) usually isn’t a good design way to go. If you want to use black and white, use inlines or high contrast drop shadows as this usually works much better.
