The 16 Best Winter Fragrances To Shop Right Now

[ad_1]
Nothing carries me through the coldest, darkest months of the year quite like a really good perfume. The best winter fragrances are uplifting and cozy in turn; some remind me of the balmier weather to come, while others envelop me in warmth and sweetness. I have never subscribed to the idea of a single signature scent, so the change in seasons is just another excuse to add to my collection. This month, there are plenty of launches to love, however your tastes run. My only request is that you test everything on bare skin before picking up a new bottle (or three). Whether you’re in the market for a chypre or a gourmand, see the 16 standouts below.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian Gentle fluidity and gentle FluidityCourtesy of Brand
I first encountered Francis Kurkdjian’s upcoming launches at a preview earlier this year, where I was surprised to discover that the duo features the same olfactive silhouette—in contrasting proportions. Kurkdjian seeks to communicate a sense of fluidity and freedom between them, swapping his usual masculine and feminine labels for alternating capitalizations. In gentle Fluidity, all is gold and voluminous, an enveloping aura of musks, vanilla, spices and ambery woods. Gentle fluidity emphasizes the freshness of the spices and juniper berry, contrasting it with balmy woods and a dry base. Ex Nihilo Cuir CelesteCourtesy of Brand
While I’ve long since learned never to expect anything boring from Ex Nihilo, the brand still caught me off guard with Cuir Celeste. It’s a leather fragrance, yes, but also somehow different. Specifically inspired by French photographer Mathieu César’s vintage B3 bomber jacket, it’s chilly and elegant, shot through with ambrette, violet leaves, patchouli and musk. The fragrance within is the brand’s signature composition, a sparkling combination of vert de mandarine, iris, and musk. We’re enamored with the updated packaging, though, which highlights the jeweler’s signature diamonds. Tiffany & Co. Holiday Limited Edition ($120)
