Saw this live on TV; completely nuts and I was expecting it to go badly wrong at all times.
Did you know he actually almost died? No joke. But that is still AWESOME!
Then along came Alan Eustace and busted Felix’s record in 2014…822mph from 135,890ft. Close to 8000ft more than the Baumgartner jump.
Joseph Kittinger did it first in 1960. He was an advisor on Felix’s jump.

I remember that. I was in a COD free-for-all lobby and everyone in the lobby was watching that guy. Litteraly NO ONE played the match, we were all watching this guy dropped. It was so freaking cool
I heard when he was practicing he started worry about the long ascent. He was essentially in a tube a little bigger than he was for about 45 min. He had some claustrophobia and acrophobia. His team came up with a 45 min checklist to keep him distracted and not let his mind wander.
RedBull sponsors a lot of these types of events. They only show the ones, where the person survives though. At least 7 people died during their RedBull sponsored stunts.
Joseph Kittinger did it first. He also nearly died the first time because a line wrapped around his neck and he passed out to wake up later on the ground. And he then went on to do it 2 more times!
