Abu Dhabi Festival honors Yahya Al-Fakhrani .. Pictures

The Abu Dhabi Festival honored Egyptian artist Yahya Al-Fakhrani, and awarded him his award for 2020, which he received in a grand ceremony at the Egyptian Opera House, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Enas Abdel Dayem.

Al-Fakhrani said, after receiving the award: “I chose not to prepare an official speech for this occasion, and I decided to give a spontaneous speech from the heart exactly like this award, which expresses love emanating from the heart.”

He added, "This award made me very happy that it differs from all the awards, first because it is from Abu Dhabi and when Abu Dhabi mentions the name of Sheikh Zayed, who has a great affection in the hearts of all Egyptians and all Arabs, immediately collapses."

He continued: "Secondly, because I initially apologized for the award because of my association with the theater now and my inability to travel to the Emirates, it was a surprise that the award winners welcomed me to come to Egypt and hand them over to me here."

The seventeenth edition of the Abu Dhabi Festival will be held in March and April. The program includes 46 events in 15 locations across the Emirates, with the participation of more than 380 international artists and 19 music composers from 66 countries.

This festival is the largest art and cultural festival in the Gulf and awards its award annually to "exceptional bidders throughout their lives in the arts and culture".

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian artist Yahya Al-Fakhrani is currently showing his play “King Lear”, with the participation of: Rania Farid Shawqi, Ahmed Fouad Salim, Reham Abdel Ghafour, Ahmed Azmi, Ayman Al-Shewi, Nidal Al-Shafei, Nasser Saif, Heba Magdi, Hamada Shousha, And the soundtrack to the musician Mustafa Al-Halawani and fashion design by Dr. Nevin Raafat, and directed by Magdy El-Hawary.
