Laika Studios as a whole is so underrated. Every movie of theirs is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. I’m still bitter that Kubo and the Two Strings lost to Zootopia in the Academy Awards.
I wonder if they could’ve achieved the same effect by soaking it in a red dye before drying the corn

250k kernels for 70 trees…. that’s 3,500 kernels per tree… looking at the trees in the background there’s more like 350 per tree (if that, TBH)
That made me slap my knee
I hope they ate them after the filming.
Coraline is one of my most favorite movies.

I worked at LAIKA while Coraline was wrapping up. To visit the studios there and see the set pieces in place was one of the wonders of a lifetime. It really made you proud to see what they’d accomplished.
