Edit: When watching fencing your attention is usually going to be at the fencer’s forearm, watching the position and angle of the elbow and wrist. You also watch the fencer’s feet. You don’t watch the tip of the foil at all. In fact that’s the last thing you want to watch since it’ll drive you crazy trying to follow it.
Now I want to pick up fencing ?
