Tried and true life advice… never approach someone that is clearly stupid or on drugs. If they couldnt figure how to park without hitting the same car seven times then you should not risk approaching them.
maybe, but you never know how mentally unstable people can be, and/or if they’re high on something. Situations like this can escalate quickly. I think maybe they should have contacted the police
Unless they put someone in imminent danger you’re better to stay away, record whatever they’re doing and call the police (preferably both at the same time) and give them a copy of the video.
Trying to stop someone clearly unable to operate a vehicle is possibly a hazard to yourself and helping them get out just makes you help them get away and cause more problems.

The best help the cameraman could be is to show this video to the police and get her off the road. It’s kinda a give a fish or teach to fish situation. Also, I guarantee NOT everybody in your class holds the same opinion, but that is the popular opinion so everybody will agree to it even if they actually think otherwise.
Try to stop it and get run over? Nah man. Internet points are better.
How the fuck did she not notice the guy filming? It’s like those bad voyeur porn clips where he’s standing super visible in his step-something’s wardrobe, but they only notice him after they’ve done some sterling solo work.
lol its not his job to stop anything. he did more than whats expected of him by filming and she can get taken to court for damages.

She can’t have a driver’s licence. That was appalling, truly awful.
What’s the camerman going to do? The damage is already done. But having a witness and the plate number would certainly help with the damaged car owner’s insurance claim.
That would literally piss me off if I came out and found my car like that. Hopefully that guy videotaping called the police to report her.
Contrary to your class’s belief, one cannot simply help someone who’s this retarded. The cameraman did well to just stay out of the way, lest he be squished.
You could just share the video with the owner of that poor van. Why risk yourself by confronting a stranger

this is from onthetools which is a popular UK builders/trade facebook page, its well known that their videos are scripted, so it makes sense that the camera man didnt react the way you might have expected
I’ve actually been in that situation recently. Went to the store, as I’m getting out of the car I hear a crunch. I look and see a truck up in the bumper of a parked SUV. I kept my eye on them (as did a couple of other ladies) and waited to see if they were going to stop or take off. I made sure they saw me snapping pictures of the damage and their truck/plate. The other two people around me did the same. One of the witnesses said something to them (asked if they were going to stay or leave a note), another one just watched and took pictures, and I went immediately inside and had the staff call for the SUV owner.
I honestly didn’t want to confront the driver because I am scared of crazy and totally aware of how psychotic some people can be when they’re caught. But I also wasn’t going to be a punk and not do anything about it. The three of us witnesses gave the pictures we had to the SUV owner, but the driver took off. We knew the SUV would at least get it covered by insurance with the witnesses she had. At least do that for them so they don’t wind up with a big bill they can’t afford. Apparently the truck driver and passenger said there wasn’t any damage so it was fine (it wasn’t, they fucked up that bumper enough it’ll need a full replacement).

That vehicle should only be approached from a 90 degree angle, relative to the direction it points.
Also, they have gotten the license-plate and a picture of the driver, what else should they do to help, arrest the driver?
