Chickens are naturally attracted to reds (it’s why many waterers etc. have red tips). Would have been better if they conditioned it on yellow or another color to remove the red bias!
Fun fact, the US military experimented with a very similar technique to train pigeons to pilot missiles by pecking the window they could see the target through during the Second World War
Chickens are so much smarter than people give them credit for. We used to teach them circus tricks when I was a kid. They’re very food driven lmao.
I read once that chickens can pick out defective pills on a production line with incredible precision and speed
