A month after giving birth, a 20-year-old Bangladeshi woman returned to a hospital complaining of lower abdominal pain. Then she gave birth to twins from her second uterus. Arifa Sultana has two uteruses, a condition called uterus didelphys. She didn’t get an ultrasound before the first delivery, so it was missed, said Dr. Sheila Poddar. “All three children are safe and healthy,” Poddar said. “The mother is also fine.”
