I’m most likely going to get some hate for this one ? the aim of a barncat is to handle all of our rodent issues. I discover Cali (the cat within the again) attempting to eat this Vole, however it was too large for her. The cats didn’t know what to do till Arrow swooped in and solved the issue. There’s positively a necessity for all animals within the meals chain. Fewer rodents on the farm is an effective factor.

That vol was definitely too comfortable. Have your birds ever eaten any pests?
Lunch for the cat…its the way of life. Cat are meat eaters. Cats are awesome for farms. Helps to keep rodents away from crops and stuff.?
Is this in slow motion? I’ve never seen a cat approach a rat so cautiously ?.
Ita part of the food chain.
I was never a cat person, however 2 years ago we got overrun with mice and rats in the house and barn. We got a couple cats (and of course they have expanded?) and we NO LONGER HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH THEM. The main momma cat is a BEAST!!! We currently have 8 cats. ??
Cats learn from older cats what to do with pests. They’ll get there, especially since you have a cat that knows the ropes.
Awh what a cute little rodent. Rip little buddy, good thing mama cali was there to put an end to his suffering. He’s skittering around in vole heaven now. ?
As we say in Sweden. Duktig kisse!? (it means good kitty) Merry Christmas to you ??❤
Good girl Arrow!
Totally agree with you! Cats have to learn and there needs to be a balance. “The circle of life!”
Nothing wrong with that. Our cats we have will scout out place for them and moles too
That is the reason we have barn cats on the farm and always will. They are very valued members of the farm family here. We also have our house cat who has no idea what a mouse is cause the barn cats are doing their job outside. Don’t even remember the last time we had a mouse in the house.
Our kittens did that once. That vole was bigger than them. They took care of it despite its size.
Good kitty!! Our culture has become so easily offended they don’t even understand the basic cycle of life. Truly sad/troubling how so many have disconnected and call right wrong and wrong right…
That’s why we have our cats. Every animal has purpose and cats keep the rodent problem down.
My parents cat is wild and will eat anything she can catch. Moles, birds, rats, anything. My cat (that stays at my parents currently as I’m in college and can’t house her) got a rat 1/3 of her size and ate it all by herself. Cats do this naturally. It’s their instinct, their job. They love it too! I think this video can be very informative. At least you didn’t show the aftermath of what the cats do to eat them!
Thanks for the amazing homestead videos! Love your channel!
We’re having a rat and mice problem too. I have a rat terrier and and mountain feist. They do their best but living in an agricultural area with farms and apple trees all around gets the population out of control. We’re looking into getting a couple of barn cats in the spring. We have a mole problem too.
Our cats catch voles and mice. So thankful for them.
I hate voles. They’ve killed so many of my plants. Anytime I see one bite the dust is a good day!!
Fewer rodents are a good thing for farm life. Your live stock and there food could be at risk of contamination. I live in a uk city and if a mouse comes in my house am afraid it’s going to get its neck broken. Am not scared of them just don’t want them in as There urine carries all kinds of germs. If you use traps the best bait is Nutella. My neighbors cats often leave dead ones on my back door step lol ?
No hate here! Rodents carry so many diseases and no food is safe with them around! Arrow is a good kitty!
Our indoor/outdoor farm cat caught so many voles this fall and kept bringing them in the house for us to see her treasures ??♀️
No argument from me. The rats expand exponentially we have four cats and will get more in the spring
This is absolutely part of the food chain and 100% your cats instincts. This is raw nature and it is natural no matter what we think. I could not love our cats more than when I find them munching on a rodent.
