thankfully us brits dont have to care about earthquakes
Knew a guy who broke his nose on the 9th floor of a building during an earthquake. He was looking out the window, and it smacked him in the face.
No fun allowed building.
Now do it at the eigenfrequency of the right building and see it wobble as much as the left building…
Edit:
Left aint right
In case of big earthquakes can you upgrade to coilovers?
They are far to small to keep a full size building up!
Isnt that traditional “box swing”? Prevented not with dampeners but with a diagonal strut? The strut is rigid but makes for more rigid onstruction and prevents “box swing”. if the dampeners are hydraulic in nature and move a little bit maybe from a cost-effective standpoint the design would be to make something that you put at the joint or fastening point of the strut. A smaller piece that accomplishes the same “give”
A tuned mass damper can take the shake from all angles.

“Oh no you didn’t girlfreind.” That wabble at the end.
Earthquake dampers. A dampener would make the building somewhat wet.
Wiggle wiggle wiggle *whistle *
That one kid in the class who wiggles for no reason
The left is just g r o o v i n g
cheers in *chileno*
Would be hella fun to be on the left structure!
Hmmmm… where can I get these shelving units?
What if it shakes the other way hmmm?
Left building feeling the vibe
Let’s get jigglin!
I feel like simple braces, albeit shock absorbing ones would be like round one brainstorming for this issue. Anyone know if this is the forefront?

What is this? A building for ants??!!

This is awesome, but how do you PM cylinders like this?
So you are going to put multiple [Semi lifting hydraulics](https://youtu.be/TO_7PjOIS9Y) in a building. That’s going to be one hell of a reinforced building/floors. Even a sealed “shock” that size is going to weigh a lot.
They be groovin
That model just wants to dance let him be.
But did you die?
Freakin awsome
That’s what we need right now in Puerto Rico!
what are those sticks and how does this building work? some one please explain because i may do this for my science fair
I’m vibing the building on the left
Is this related to resonance?
