Michael Schumacher was taken to a Paris hospital for secret treatment

Former German motorist Michael Schumacher has been rushed to hospital in Paris for "secret treatment".

This came according to "Sky News", citing the newspaper "Le Parisien" French.

Schumacher completed his 50-year-old career on January 3, but has not appeared in public since the accident he suffered during his skiing in the French Alps five years ago, an accident that led to serious head injuries and was placed in a "medically induced coma" for several months.

Le Parisien reported that Schumacher had been taken to the Pompidou hospital in southwest Paris, and that the former hero would undergo stem cell treatment by French surgeon Philippe Menashe.

Schumacher remains the most successful driver in the history of motor racing with 91 wins in the Grand Prix. Schumacher won his first two titles with Benetton in 1994 and 1995 before winning five successive titles with Ferrari between 2000 and 2004.

In January, his family issued a statement saying they were "in good hands."
