10 Feb – Hong Kong socialite and businesswoman Laurinda Ho recently revealed that she has ordered in a huge number of face masks to be donated to the public.
As reported on Mingpao, the daughter of casino tycoon Stanley Ho shared a photo of the boxes of face masks bearing the logo of her charity organisation Smile With Us, writing, “The first batch of masks bought by [“Smile with Us HK”] has arrived in Hong Kong. We will first donate these masks to cleaners, tenants, hospitals and the elderly. Although the number is temporarily small, I hope to solve the urgent problem.”
“If the customs clearance and transportation goes smoothly, the second batch of masks will arrive in Hong Kong one after another. We will distribute them as soon as possible to help you through the difficulties. We prioritise groups that need the most urgency and reach,” she pointed out.
Laurinda also reminded followers and netizens alike to pay attention to their personal hygiene, and expressed her belief that everybody will be able to survive the adversity together.
“Finally, everyone is welcome to leave a message and inform me of any method to directly contact cleaners, elders, medical teams or other groups that urgently need masks. Let us donate more masks,” she added.
