[NSFW] I got my eye surgery yesterday and they recorded it. 27 years of poor vision, and in 15 minutes im seeing 15/20. (The blue light is the laser reshaping my cornia.) Incredible. (also, sorry for the commentary, another patient was being briefed on the procedure)

That’s horrifyingly amazing, happy you can see now! I have shitty vision and I’ve worn glasses since I was 10. Please tell me you weren’t awake while doing this.
I got this done about 8 years ago, worth every penny but damn it wasn’t pleasant
Did you do them at the same time or did one then later after no complications did the other?
I am having a tough time trying to convince my wife to let me do it. All the people I talk to said horrible things about it, but the research says different.

Had it done a decade ago and it was the best money I ever spent. It was just $1800 via a groupon. I investigated the docs and tried to find a reason not to do it, I couldnt find one.
I describe it as “90 seconds of pure terror . . . but totally worth it”
This doc had trouble flipping over the cornea, mine was just flipped over quickly none of this back and forth brushing. Juuuuuuust as the panic sets in, they go, “okay, one eye done” and you’re like, “I can handle that one more time”
Couldnt recommend is enough.
It will NOT fix your reading vision though. They tell you that upfront, I use readers all the time, there’s no LASIK fix for that yet that I know of.
My doc first said I could take a pill to relax, they were gonna give me a one pill prescrip to fill the day of, and then the actual day of, they say, “nope, you need to be coherent to look at the light when the laser does its thing” so I was stone cold sober for it the whole time.
That is the only criticism I had about my procedure.
My eyes were watering the whole time I watched this.
I’ve never felt wick seeing anything gory or gross. But watching that brush go over and eye, and the flap being pushed over made me look away. I just couldn’t imagine the feeling of having that done

Yeah, I know how it feels (I was born with bad eyesight). Just saving up to afford LASIK or PRK. What do you recommend?

I’ve worn glasses since I was 5. I can’t see anything in focus that isn’t within two inches of my eyeball.
Currently 16 and worry about my vision everyday. Two more years and maybe I’ll get Lasik. I’m just worried that I’ll get too carefree and will get a retina detachment.

I did that too. It’s so weird cause you’re basically blind for a minute and then you can magically see better.

How much does something like this cost? I’m forming cataracts, I’ve got glaucoma, and an astigmatism 🙁

Nice video! I got PRK done in 2003, vision is still 15/10. They told me I would probably need reading glasses in my 70’s, but thats 30 years from now so I’m good with it 🙂
How do you not blink? Do they put you in coma cause I would ask them to if it were me…

Damn I got it done 7 months ago (Lasik) ,had these halo rainbow hexagon(side effect in rare cases) for few months . Other than that Totally worth it. And I also was searching for a video show the procedure to my mom. Thnx
