Samantha and R.J. Mickle of Hillsborough welcomed their first daughter – and the first baby born at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough – in the early morning Thursday.
“We have a new little pickle,” said R.J., who runs Mickle’s Pickle Farm in Hillsborough, in addition to his day job on the janitorial staff at Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School.
Lilyanne Virginia Mickle was born by Caesarean section at 7:54 a.m. on Jan. 2, weighing 7 pounds and 8 ounces, measuring 18 inches.
She will be the third child in the couple’s blended family, and their first together, Samantha said. Her brothers, Timothy, 8, and Jonah, 3, were both hoping for a girl.
“They wanted a sister. They can get sick of each other, so they wanted a little girl to play with,” she said.
“Little do they know, she’s going to be running the show,” joked R.J.
