Jakarta – Police revealed the alleged trigger that caused the car driver with the initials N to be chased by residents until they entered a toll road in Tangerang Regency, Banten. The incident is believed to have started with a vehicle hitting it. “The suspicion is that it may have collided with another vehicle. It seems that N was chased, (then) ran away,” said Curug police chief AKP Kresna, Monday (22/12/2025). According to him, the distance from when the victim first drove the car to the scene of the incident was quite far. So it is possible that the chase will last quite a long time. The chase took quite a long time, maybe when people got there they heard that car thieves are like that,” he explained. The victim is a subordinate of the car owner, namely Y. The two of them knew each other and this was confirmed by the police. “In fact, N and the owner of Yosep’s car know each other. Last night it was confirmed that Yosep knew each other at the relevant hospital,” he explained. Previously, a car driver with the initials N was chased by residents until he entered a toll road in Tangerang Regency, Banten. N was also attacked by residents who chased him. “From the initial chronology, the name of the car owner was Y, his subordinate driver’s name was N. So yesterday he ordered N to service the car in the Panongan area. Well, Y lives in Curug,” the Sector Police Chief said. The incident took place on Sunday (21/12). Kresna said that the car owner contacted the repair shop around 17:00 WIB to say that his car had been serviced and taken by his staff. “Only after he received the news did he see on social media that N had been beaten at the toll gate and chased by residents,” he explained.
