Mohali based I…read more DNA test report will now be available within 45 minutes. Sumesh Thakur, Chandigarh. Now there will be no need to wait 24 or 72 hours for the report of DNA test which is considered very important for medical, research or other reasons. It will be available in 35 to 45 minutes. Scientists have prepared such a kit through which only three tests will have to be taken instead of 13. Along with saving time, expenses will also be reduced by 60 to 70 percent. Remove ad just read news The special thing is that this kit is also prepared for important laboratory techniques PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), which can test typhoid, tuberculosis, influenza, respiratory virus, malaria and dengue. It was prepared by the team of Jimmy Bhambra, founder of Indox Solutions Private Limited, in collaboration with the Mohali-based Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (ISER). Presented at the India International Science Festival organized in Panchkula, this special formula was prepared in Iceer’s laboratory. According to this, inno-extract for sample preparation and special instruments for laboratory work have been developed, which will give the report of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) test in a few minutes. Work is also underway to obtain digital reports of DNA tests. Once finalized, the kit can be launched for use in the market. With this, the complete report will be available digitally on mobile phones. Here’s how the technology works: Jimmy Bhambra explains that after blood samples are taken, 13 to 14 tests are done to extract DNA, which takes four to six hours. Under the new project, Inno Extract (liquid form) will be used to extract DNA from blood, in which DNA will be separated with two to three tests within ten minutes. After sample preparation, one has to go to the laboratory for DNA testing. DNA must be kept at a certain temperature in the laboratory. After it reaches the prescribed temperature, it is tested, which takes 12 to 15 hours. According to the new technology, the laboratory work will be done with a new instrument, which will determine the temperature within a few minutes. After the temperature is determined, other laboratory tests will be done automatically, which will give results within 10 to 15 minutes. The new kit can be easily transported from one place to another due to its small size. Bhambra said that the work to get the lab results on the instruments is completely successful. After this, the report must be taken digitally, for which updating is done within the tools. The tools are prepared in such a way that the report is updated through WhatsApp or message on the concerned person’s or investigator’s mobile phone number. This project will be launched in the market as soon as the system for receiving digital reports is finalized. There will be a 60 to 70 percent reduction in expenses. With the introduction of new DNA testing kits, the testing rate will also decrease. According to the manufacturing company, the new kit will reduce costs by 60 to 70 percent, along with saving time in testing. After sample preparation, the hassle of going to the laboratory will also be avoided and expenses will be reduced. This is a huge effort for DNA testing. Its tests have been successful and its arrival will save time, which is the greatest need today. -Satendra Singh Chaudhary, CEO Technology Business Incubator Icer, Mohali
