Jakarta – The Golkar Party has completed the 1st National Leadership Assembly (Rapimnas) of 2025. A number of agreed points emerged, one of which related to regional head elections (Pilkada) by the DPRD and the formation of a Permanent Coalition. “The Golkar Party encourages the transformation of political cooperation patterns from merely tactical electoral coalitions to the formation of an ideological and strategic Permanent Coalition, based on a common platform and policy agenda,” Golkar chairman Bahlil Lahadalia said in a written statement, Sunday (21/12/2025). Bahlil explained the reason for forming a permanent coalition, namely to maintain the continuity of national development in the long term. Political stability is the main prerequisite for sustainable development,” he continued. His party also proposed that the regional elections be held by the DPRD. The Golkar National Assembly also recommended improvements to the open proportional electoral system in the Republic of Indonesia. “The Golkar Party proposes Regional Chief Elections (Pilkada) through the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) as a form of implementation of popular sovereignty, emphasizing public engagement and participation in the implementation process,” Bahlil said. “Regarding the implementation of elections, the Golkar Party recommends enhancements and improvements to the Open Proportional System by improving the technical aspects of implementation, administration and management to realize honest and fair elections,” he added. Golkar also recommends fiscal support to speed up the recovery and recovery process in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra after the disaster. His party also supports the direction of Indonesia’s free and active foreign policy. “The Golkar Party especially gives its full appreciation and support to President Prabowo Subianto as the leader of the Islamic world to overcome the humanitarian crisis in Gaza for peace in the Middle East, especially Palestine and Israel, where Palestine is an independent and sovereign state,” he said.
