Kompolnas appreciates ‘HeForShe’ awards 2025: Polri strengthens gender equality

Jakarta – Kompolnas Commissioner Choirul Anam appreciated the Polri award in support of the UN ‘He For She’ movement 2025. According to him, this is an attempt to build gender equality in the Polri institution. “Firstly, the most important theme is that there are many good initiatives that we have found in the regions that we cannot imagine how all the efforts in the regions and in the national work units have been made to build equality at an internal level so that they are equal in the context of policewomen and police officers and so on and especially for the community for the best interests of women,” said Cair An Triambra. He said that National Police Chief Listyo Sigit received confidence on gender equality from international organizations. “This good initiative has been around for a long time, especially because the National Police Chief himself will also win awards internationally in police women’s organizations around the world in 2023,” he explained. He explained that the award received by the National Police Chief was then followed up by concrete actions for his members. It is also a movement to protect women, equality, including the protection of women throughout society. “What is no less important now is that not only the Police of the Republic of Indonesia is strengthening itself, saluting the community, but it is also part of a global movement, a world movement and it is our Police that is saluting the world by strengthening equality and access for women,” he said. He continued, the initiative carried out in gender equality has led the National Police Chief to create a special post for dealing with children and women. The matter is therefore not only related to daily practice. “One of the most important is the policy to create a separate directorate for dealing with women and children,” he said. (lir/lir)
