Fans slam studios for resuming filming in Hengdian

20 Feb – Although the cast and crew of many studios are happy to be able to resume work following the reopening of Hengdian World Studios, it was the fans who were angered over the eagerness of the production companies to finish their films and series during these trying times.

As reported on Epoch Times, following news that Hengdian Studio has decided to reopen its locations gradually after closing it down last month to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, several productions have already started working again – including the Zanilia Zhao comeback series, “Legend of Fei”, and Yang Mi’s “Thank You, Doctor”.

Although it was revealed that many of the crew members were also happy to be able to work again – despite being paid while they were on hiatus – the news was not taken kindly by netizens.

Fans of Zanilia and Yang in particular have been expressing their protests online following the news, saying that the studios are ignoring the safety of their actors, since – unlike the crew – actors are not able to wear masks in front of the camera.

Many people are also worried that the resuming of work would also cause the pandemic to spread again, after it was reported that workers in multiple cities in Beijing, Guangdong and Chongqing were infected with the Coronavirus as a result of resuming production work.
