In this, the second of our brand and product showcases (read the first one, about Coconut Tree here), we take a look at our vendor SuperBee and their gorgeous beeswax wraps. What are they? How are they made? And WHY should you use them?

SuperBee Wax Wraps is an eco-friendly product that replaces plastic wrap in the kitchen. Handmade and naturally antibacterial, it is a washable, reusable cloth, coated in a beeswax solution sticky enough to wrap and cover all kinds of leftovers and food.
Reuse it over and over again for up to one year!
The company has FCM, FDA, BPA Free ad GMP certifications. All suppliers are local, some organic and OTOP certified, who all follow GMP and GPA guidelines.
Originally from rural Australia, founder Antoinette Jackson grew up on a farm and early on she learned to appreciate and respect nature, hard work and what it means to provide food and resources to communities.
During her youth, Antoinette lived in both Japan and Europe and worked as a tour guide, a teacher and Japanese interpreter, healer, blogger.. You name it, she's done it. She even worked in a bakery in Ireland! After years of traveling the world, in 2011 she settled with her husband and two children in Chang Mai in northern Thailand. It was while battling with depression as a result of losing two close friends that Antoinette stumbled on the idea that was to turn into her business. Antoinette's father incidentally told her that her grandmother used to make Wax Wraps with bees wax from the family's hives on the farm in rural Australia. Antoinette decided to give it a go as a form of self therapy, and day and night for months on end she would cut and wax and cut, looking for the best mixture.
Finally she found it, she launched her business in 2016.
Desperate for many years to be integrated into the Thai community, Superbee really has succeeded in integrating with the villages surrounding them, empowering the women and mothers of the mountains. Always a feminist, Antoinette has together with a strong team of dedicated women from the nearby villages been going from strength to strength. The company now has distributors in many countries around the world.
Here on Style by Asia, we love using our beeswax wraps, not just because they are great and they help cut out single use plastic, but because it is good to know that the product comes from hives well taken care of and are made with love by people able to gain employment from the support we give!
