They do not make them like they used to. My dad and mom bought this blender as a marriage present 60 years in the past and I’ve burned via three blenders in my 50 years of life.

Back in the day it was all about building long lasting products you could trust, name recognition. Now it’s about planned failure and obsolescence so you buy more blenders.
Oh yeah! Well my Ninja blender can make soup, but God help you if you break the glass cuz it cost almost as much as a new blender because of all the electronics and gizmos embedded in it. Simpler is better. Nowadays they just pack everything full of electronics and gizmos for 1, to make it easily breakable for 2, so it quickly becomes obsolete for 3, so they can charge you more for it. ?
What’s your favorite thing to make with a blender?
Stip making so many dam Piña coladas you drunk!
I had that same blender until last year. The blade was so dull, but it worked fine. But I do admit it was loud.
Blenders are pretty simple machines.
Are you sure your getting one with a quality motor/gearbox?

3 in 50 years???? Damn more like 3 in 8 years for me. Granted I dont buy the highest quality, but still…..
Make me a MasterCard, please. They’re just too good!
If you haven’t, 10/10 would recommend. It’s pretty much strawberry daiquiri and Mango danquiri (red and orange, like the mastercard) with rum. Lots of yummy rum.
Yes dude! I have an old brown/ tan one my mom gave me when I moved out and have never used it just sits in the box lol collecters item lmao
My parents had the exact blender same color and everything when I was growing up not sure if they still have it, but now I’m curious.
I wonder how the difference works out costwise, in terms of percentage of disposable income spend on blenders over the years.
We have the same model, but it has the original glass pitcher and thus one looks like a plastic pitcher. When the blade gets hard to turn, I clean it and lube it with vegetable oil.
I was SO BUMMED when mine died. Similarly went from grandparents to my mom before me.
My parents gave me their 1980s Osterizer and it finally burnt out after daily use in 2015.
I bought a replacement oster and it burnt out in 3 years. My replacement is dying.
I went through 5 blenders in 7 years so I got a vitamix with a 7year warranty
Only 3 blenders???
Or maybe you just have a drinking problem?
Did you try blending the broken blenders?
Send that thing to AvE for a teardown video.
They make cheap blenders to make people buy more when the old one dies. Always buy a good quality one
We have one and it’s amazing
I bought a blender to make smoothies and the fucking thing locked itself onto the base.
I nearly had to get a Dremel to free it, apparently they didn’t fully make it lockable in only one way :/
That’s the same one my parents have. Still works.
Wastin’ away again.
Previous fucking level.
All we get is crap nowadays starting with overly priced poorly designed, manufactured and assembled pieces of crap that they dare call cars.
I have that same model of blender, inherited from my grandmother. Works fine.
My parents got a mustard/piss pale yellow one that still works. Exact same model.
They don’t make nothing like they used to. No profit in it.
My father was a quality engineer at Oster back in the 1970s. They made stuff to last.
Got a blender that looks just like that and works like a charm.
Look where its manufactured…..not Chinese shit. Explains it all.
