Jakarta – Head of Civil and State Administration (Datun) District Head of Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU), Tri Taruna Fariadi (TTR), was arrested by a team from the Prosecutor’s Office. The cadet ran away when he was about to be arrested in the KPK’s sting operation (OTT). Head of the Office of the Attorney General, Anang Supriatna, explained that Tri Taruna was arrested in the South Kalimantan region on Sunday (21/12/2025) by the Innovation Reform Intelligence Task Force Team (SIRI). Taruna was named by the Corruption Eradication Commission as a suspect in an extortion case. “If I’m not mistaken, yesterday (he was arrested), Sunday in the South Kalimantan area as well. Yesterday, he was immediately taken,” Anang told reporters at the Attorney General’s Office, South Jakarta, on Monday (12/22). He only stated that Taruna was not arrested at his house. “Somewhere else (not at home),” Anang said. Anang then revealed the reason why the cadets ran away during the KPK OTT on Thursday (19/12). The cadets, Anang said, were scared and tried to avoid being arrested by the officers. “According to the team that handled the TTF brother, the person concerned was afraid when he was going to be arrested. Because he was not sure if it was a KPK officer or who, he did not understand. So avoided it,” says Anang. Despite this, the AGO has now handed over the cadets to the Corruption Eradication Commission for further processing. Meanwhile, the Corruption Eradication Commission has named Taruna as a suspect in the alleged extortion case. “On Monday, December 22, 2025, the prosecutor’s office handed over a TTF member, Kasi Datun, to the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) for the purposes of the investigation process and it was received and is currently being investigated by the Corruption Eradication Commission,” says Anang. He said the handover was a form of cooperation and transparency regarding cases involving prosecutors. He assured that his party will not interfere in the case which is currently being processed by the KPK. “It is also a concrete manifestation of the institution’s commitment to support law enforcement measures and internal clean-up efforts, in order to maintain the dignity and integrity of the Adhyaksa Corps,” said Anang. “The prosecutor’s office emphasized that the institution will not obstruct, intervene or provide protection to anyone suspected of being involved in criminal acts of corruption. Any legal process is completely handed over to the authorized law enforcement officers,” he concluded. (ond/lir)
