I have a hard time believing Bulger was a real informant – in the "stricte" sense of the meaning at least. I have a strong suspicion he was LABELLED as an "informant" by some FBI agents, which gave them (the feds) an easier way to collect some esy money (…or – as they preferred to put it – "LOANS"! 😀 …) from Bulger, while at the same time giving him (Bulger) a pass to do whatever the fuck he wanted. It was a case of Irish guys from the streets "teaming up" with other Irish guys from the government, to wipe out a common enemy, which (what a "surprise!) were the Italians! 😀 😀 …but – TRUTH BE TOLD – they didn't even need Bulger to put down the Angiullo's – the Angiullos "put down" themselves with their big mouth! XD 😀 At the end – Bulger was the one to be given the best hand. 🙂
