Aamir Khan expressed grief for not attending Dharmendra’s prayer meeting

Mumbai, November 27 (IANS). Actor Aamir Khan recently attended the 56th International Film Festival of India. On this occasion, he recalled the moments he spent with veteran actor Dharmendra. The actor told that he was close to actor Dharmendra for several years and met him regularly and during this time he also introduced his son Azad. The actor said: “I actually grew up with his films. Everyone knows him as an action hero and He-Man. He portrayed such characters so well in his career, but I think people didn’t see the true depth of his acting. He played every genre very well, be it romance or comedy. He is the best actor for me.” The actor told that he will not be able to attend the prayer meeting to be held on Thursday, for which he is extremely sad. The actor said, “He was very close to my heart, especially for the last one year. I met him 7, 8 times in a year because I liked his company a lot. Once I even took my son Azad because Azad hadn’t seen Dharmendra ji’s work properly, so how will he know him?” He further said, “I told Azad that today I will introduce you to a special person, so he went with me and spent a few hours with him. Dharmendra ji was not only an actor but also a kind-hearted person. Whoever he met, be it people from the industry or anyone else, he always met with love and affection. His departure is a great loss to the entire industry.” Aamir said, “From ‘Satyakaam’ to ‘Chupke Chupke’, he has done amazing work in all types of films. His language was very clear and he spoke very beautifully even in live events. I remember when I went to a book launch, the speech he gave was very dignified.” –IANS NS/ABM Share this story Tags
