Jakarta – The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) revealed the current condition of the defendant in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chromebook laptops, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, after the operation. The AGO said Nadiem is now healthy and can return to his activities. “According to information from the public prosecutor, based on the doctor’s statement, the person concerned is healthy and can return to his activities,” the head of the Attorney General’s Penkum, Anang Supriatna, told reporters on Monday (22/12/2025). SCROLL TO CONTINUE CONTENT However, Anang did not confirm whether or not Nadiem will be present at the reading of the indictment in the Chromebook laptop corruption case to be held tomorrow at the Tipikor District Court, Central Jakarta. “However, we will see developments tomorrow,” said Anang. It is known that the trial for Nadiem’s charge was actually held on Monday (16/12). However, the trial was eventually postponed because Nadiem was still sent home after undergoing an operation at the hospital. “In fact, based on the trial date, there were four defendants, but we, the public prosecutor, only followed up on three defendants. One defendant, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, based on the results of the doctor’s examination, could not attend the trial today because he had finished surgery,” said prosecutor Roy Riady at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday (16/12). Nadiem will be presented in court tomorrow. Prosecutors are targeting the evidentiary hearing for Nadiem and the three other defendants who are being held at the same time. “We are based on the letter of request for detention submitted by the team of legal advisers, and we also hope that the accused Nadiem Anwar Makarim can be presented next week, Your Honor, because we hope that the trial for the four accused will be immediately proven, to be immediately investigated,” says the prosecutor. The panel of judges then examined the legal position of Nadiem’s legal advisory team and asked for the legal advisory team’s reaction to Nadiem’s condition. Nadiem asked that the delivery be carried out following the doctor’s letter of recommendation. Nadiem’s party also asked for complete documents in the form of evidence in Nadiem’s charge sheet, as well as an audit report on state losses from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) in this case. The panel of judges stated that whether or not Nadiem et al’s trials will be joined will await the completion of the reading of the indictment. “We will therefore adjourn it to the next hearing on Tuesday, December 23, 2025,” said the chairman of the panel of judges, Purwanto S Abdullah.
