On Sunday, at 12 noon, some of the shops at Chowbije Gate were open when the bully traders started protesting against the investigation at AP Jewellers. Businessmen say that harassment is happening. They declared a deadlock and started closing the markets and some shops did not even open. After this, the open shops in Kinari Bazaar and Salt Market were also closed. Shops in other parts of the city were also contacted by phone and asked to close. At the same time, President of Agra Trade Board, TN Aggarwal said that if the harassment does not stop, Agra Bandh will be called. He was in Bareilly during the provincial session, but he also briefed his state leadership, including the officials of the Income Tax Department in Kanpur. Organization officers were sent to work with the traders. Rajesh Aggarwal, Rakesh Aggarwal, Dushyant Garg from the board of trade along with gold traders Nitesh Aggarwal, Braj Mohan Rapuria were present in support of the closure.
