Jacky Cheung releases tribute song composed by Jay Chou

25 Feb – Andy Lau is not the only Cantopop Heavenly King who has released a tribute song recently, as Jacky Cheung also did the same through his new single, “Through the Wind and Rain”.

As reported on Mingpao, the song was composed by Taiwanese multi-hyphenate Jay Chou, and features lyrics from Jay’s long-time collaborator Vincent Fang, who has worked with the musician on many hit songs including “Dong Feng Po”, “Nunchucks”, and “Rhythm of the Rain”.

The music video which was released on 24 February also came with a message from Jacky himself.

He expressed, “The goodness and beauty of humanity is best reflected during adversity and difficult times. I would like to pay the highest tribute to all medical staff who are bravely fighting and rescuing people.”

Jacky also did not forget to remind the public to take care of their own health and personal hygiene to help prevent the spread of the virus.

On the other hand, Jay, who spoke about the collaboration through his label JVR Music, shared that he was invited by the Cantopop King earlier for a cooperation and decided to contribute through composing the new song.
