The Bild newspaper reported that a woman from Hamburg had reported the facts to the police, and revealed 15 pictures of children she had been sent to via the popular WhatsApp app.

Police moved to Metzelder's house, where he confiscated his phone and computer but did not arrest the player.

Metzelder was famous for his defense of old clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and Real Madrid (2007/2010), and was crowned with Real in the league, cup and super Spanish.
