Djakarta – Floods and landslides hit Bener Meriah, Aceh, reportedly killing 11 people. Currently, dozens of people are still being searched. “Temporary data shows that 11 people died, 13 people were missing,” said Head of the Department of Communication and Information, Bener Meriah Ilham Abdi, as reported by detikSumut, Thursday (27/11/2025). The victims were spread over six sub-districts in the area. The process of searching for victims who are still missing is still ongoing. Scroll TO CONTINUE CONTENT According to him, there are currently four sub-districts still isolated, namely Syiah Utama, Mesidah, Pintu Rime Gayo and Gajah Putih. Communication access to it was also cut off. “We have not managed to communicate in 4 other sub-districts because communication access and roads have been completely cut off,” he explained. Ilham explained that the rain that fell on Bener Meriah had stopped. “But the electricity is still down and the internet network is down,” he explained. Read more here (lir/lir)
