It is more than 1000 years old. The priest told that this is his 10th generation that is engaged in the service of Mother Goddess. Indore: The temple of Bijasan Mata located on Bijasan Tekri, located on a high hill near the airport in Indore, is the center of faith of Indore. This temple is more than 1000 years old and is the only temple in the world where Mother Earth herself is present in her nine forms. Mother is also called the goddess of protection, there is a very interesting story behind it. People come here to make wishes and get rid of their obstacles. This temple had special significance since the time of the Holkar dynasty. Temple priest Ratan Man Goswami said that Bijasan Mata is considered as the form of Maa Durga. The biggest specialty of the temple is that in the main sanctum sanctorum there are statues of nine different goddesses along with Maa Bijasan, who is the earth herself. It was built with great effort. It is said that Maharaja Kushiram Holkar came to visit the forest and then he saw the Mata sitting here. He was a great devotee of the Goddess. He tried several times to build the temple but each time the walls of the temple were broken. Later one day the Mother gave him a dream and asked him to make a wish and build a temple only when the place was completed. He wished for the birth of a son and Shivaji Rao Holkar was born, after which the temple could be built here. Bijasan Mata is the goddess of security. It is said that in ancient times, when there used to be forts and security posts around Indore, Bijasan Mata was considered as the goddess of security. There is also a belief that there was a dense forest around Tekri and dangerous animals lived there, but the devotees never suffered any kind of harm here. Holkar’s army used to come here to seek blessings before going to war. People also say that during the reign of Alauddin Khilji, when temples were attacked, the power of this temple forced the invaders to retreat. Even today people have great faith in the eternal light here. The temple is a thousand years old. Bijasan Mata Temple is more than 1000 years old. During Navratri, a 9-day fair is organized here, during which the entire hill is decorated in a grand manner. During this period lakhs of devotees come here for darshan.
